TOBAY NEW YORK LACROSSE CLUB 2006 SEASON
Welcome to the Tobay Lacrosse Club 2006 season. This year marks our 54th season as a club team. This is our 18th year of sponsorship with the Town of Oyster Bay, and our third year with Harrow Lacrosse. With support like this, we are extremely optimistic about the upcoming season and committed to winning and improving all aspects of the team.
Two of our players earned 2005 U.S.C.L.A. All-Club Honors:
- Joe Barile - 2nd Team Midfield
- Tim Knowles - 2nd Team Defense
Notable Team/Player Accomplishments (1996-present):
- 42 Players All-Club (1996-present)
- President Billy Rebman selected as Assistant General Manager Team U.S.A. for 2006.
- Tim Knowles, Chris Fiore & Dan Chemotti received Team U.S.A tryouts in 2005
- Goalie Chris Lamonica, Defenseman Tim Knowles members of 2002 World Champion Team U.S.A.
- President Billy Rebman, Assistant General Manager of 2002 World Champion Team U.S.A.
- 4 Players received Team U.S.A. tryouts in 2001
- Attackman, Bruce Bruno (1987-98) elected to the Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1997. In 1996, received the Krongard Award (the highest honor in club lacrosse).
- Former Head coach--Joe Kovar, became a member of the Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1996, and was voted U.S.C.L.A. northern coach of the year for 1997 & 1998.
- Eight Duke-TOBAY players selected to the 1998 U.S.C.L.A. North All-Star Team vs. Team U.S.A. prior to the World Games: Brian Piccola (attack), Brian O'keefe (attack), Steve Gilhuley (midfield), Jim Rogers (midfield), Kevin Travis (midfield), Eric Strub (defense), Brian Kuczma (defense) and Mike Larocco (goalie). The head coach for this team was TOBAY's Joe Kovar.
